  Juventus is now third most-followed football club on Instagram after seeing a rise of 20 million followers following the arrival of former Real Madrid striker, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar joined the Italian club in 2018 when they were just on 10 million, but now they have witnessed a rapid increase including surpassing his former club, Manchester United.  Juventus now has 31.1m followers on Instagram, while Manchester United boasts of 31m followers.  Real Madrid still leads the way as the most popular football club on Instagram with 77.6 million followers, while Barcelona maintains the second spot with 76.4m followers. 

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri, still recovering from a bout of pneumonia, could yet be passed fit to make his debut for the Turin side when they face his former club Napoli in Serie A on Saturday. According to photographs published by Italian media on Wednesday, the 60-year-old is both backs on the training ground and, possibly, smoking cigarettes again as he recovers from the illness which sidelined him earlier this month. Sarri, who missed last week’s opening match at Parma but has been in constant touch with his players throughout, was widely reported to have watched practice on the touchline on Wednesday. The Corriere Della Sera also published a selfie taken by a young fan standing next to Sarri who was holding a packet of cigarettes in his hand. According to the Italian news agency ANSA, this left the club’s leadership “disappointed”.

Brazilian football star,  Neymar  has told his current club  Paris Saint-Germain  that he 'wants to go' back to  Barcelona , where he should 'never have left'. Back in 2017,  the 27-year-old footballer swapped Barcelona for PSG in a world-record fee of £198million to become the world's most expensive player. Now his future with the Ligue 1 champions look like is close to coming to an end following a series of issues between himself and the club. PSG boss  Thomas Tuchel , as report Mundo Deportivo, is said to be exasperated by the 'problems' Neymar creates in the dressing room and is not against a potential departure. The 27-year-old footballer has now made private feelings about wanting a move back to Barcelona, where he admitted he shouldn't have left. Neymar is reported to have told PSG president  Nasser Al-Khelaifi : 'I do not want to play more in PSG. I want to go back to my house, where I should never have left.'  ...

He shared the picture on twitter, with the caption: “Getting ready for the Champions league” Moses is Chelsea’s first choice right wing back and was an ever present in the squad that won their EPL trophy.

Boxing star Adrien Broner was caught on video violently shoving a woman and knocking a dude out cold on the Vegas strip on Friday night. The boxer was taking photos with fans one minute and the next he went ballistic. The reason for the change in his mood is not clear but he is seen in the video flipping out as he walks near the MGM. A female companion is seen trying to calm him down, but he shoves her, sending her flying backward. Soon after, he deals a blow to a guy who landed on the floor. Security reportedly talked to Broner, but let him go eventually. Broner has had numerous outside-the-ring issues over the years. Floyd Mayweather has tried to step in and mentor him earlier this year but it doesn't seem to be working.  below.

Chelsea’s stars enjoyed a brief flight on Friday as the club took the unusual step of travelling to their away game at Leicester via aeroplane. Eden Hazard, Michy Batshuayi, Victor Moses and Co posed for photos on board the chartered jet as the squad prepared for take-off. Chelsea have chosen to fly to Leicester ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash – despite just 102 miles separating Stamford Bridge and the  King Power Stadium. Chelsea are set to welcome Hazard back into the fold with the Belgian in contention to feature for his club for the first time this season. Hazard played twice for Belgium over the international break and has been training with the Chelsea first team after recovering from a fractured ankle suffered in June. It means Antonio Conte has a full squad to choose from – with new signings Danny Drinkwater and Davide Zappacosta in contention to make their Chelsea debuts.

President Buhari this morning received Nigeria's female basketball team, D’Tigress in the presidential villa, Abuja. The women basketballers won the Afrobasket Championship title for the first time in 12 years in Mali last Sunday, making them the new African women basketball champions. President Buhari while receiving them, announced that each player will receive the sum of a million naira while the officials will receive half a million.

The Super Eagles players have held their first training session ahead of 2018 World Cup qualifying clash against Cameroon. All the invited players including Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi, Ahmed Musa, Ogenyi Onazi, Odion Ighalo, Elderson Echiejile, William Troost-Ekong, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and 15 others took part in the training session on Tuesday evening. Barcelona have reached an agreement to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele for a club-record fee.         The 20-year-old France international forward is due to arrive in Barcelona on Sunday and will undergo a medical on Monday before signing a five-year contract. He has been given squad number 11. A Barcelona statement read: "FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ousmane Dembele for 105 million euros (£97m) plus add-ons. "The player will sign a five year contract and his buy out-clause is set at 400 million euros." The fee is the second highest of all time, behind just the £200m PSG paid Barcelona for Neymar earlier this summer, and the add-ons in the deal are up to 40 per cent of the initial fee, which equates to 42 million Euros (£38m).
