A thief in Guinea who goes by the name, Boubacar Diallo congratulated the police for catching him in a video that is going viral on social media in the country.

Diallo, a student at a technical college in Mamou, and his accomplice freely admitted having stolen 50m Guinean francs ($5,600; £4,160) from a phone shop in the northwestern city.

In front of the cameras, Diallo called for more resources to be given to the police. In his words, 'the national police head office should be congratulated. I also want to say that the police needs equipment because it has well-trained officers'.

Then, he added that he never imagined that he would be caught so quickly and said he regretted his crime.

Man Fakes His Kidnap To Obtain N1million From His Wife

Luck has ran out on a man who reportedly faked his own kidnap so that he could obtain money from his wife for his lottery betting. Policemen in Benue state have arrested a 49 year-old man identified as Clement Silver from Tiv in Benue State but residing at Odozi Street, Agbor for allegedly arranging his own kidnap to fraudulently obtain money from his wife. He was apprehended by members of Agbor Gha-Ihun security outfit at his hideout beside Camelite Paint, Agbor, Delta state, alongside his accomplice, Mr. Sunday Kibechukwu, 33, who acted as the kidnapper. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen over N8, 627,458,773.36 billion in three accounts of billionaire businesswoman and an associate and friend of former First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, Bola Shagaya, at Unity bank. According to the Nation, the anti-graft agency is currently investigating the link between Hajia Shagaya and about 10 firms/account. The billionaire business woman who did not hold any public appointment during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, has dragged Unity Bank to the High Court of Lagos State for allowing the EFCC to Post No Debit (PND) on her accounts without a valid court order.
