Hyde, who is currently the West Africa correspondent for the business publication, will be heading the recently launched www.forbesafrica.com platform.

Man Fakes His Kidnap To Obtain N1million From His Wife

Luck has ran out on a man who reportedly faked his own kidnap so that he could obtain money from his wife for his lottery betting. Policemen in Benue state have arrested a 49 year-old man identified as Clement Silver from Tiv in Benue State but residing at Odozi Street, Agbor for allegedly arranging his own kidnap to fraudulently obtain money from his wife. He was apprehended by members of Agbor Gha-Ihun security outfit at his hideout beside Camelite Paint, Agbor, Delta state, alongside his accomplice, Mr. Sunday Kibechukwu, 33, who acted as the kidnapper. The suspect while confessing to the crime said his intention was to force his wife to pay his demand, adding that he needed the money to boost his lottery/betting business (Bet9ja). EFCC freezes N8. 6 billion in three accounts owned by billionaire business woman, Bola Shagaya

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen over N8, 627,458,773.36 billion in three accounts of billionaire businesswoman and an associate and friend of former First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, Bola Shagaya, at Unity bank. According to the Nation, the anti-graft agency is currently investigating the link between Hajia Shagaya and about 10 firms/account.  The billionaire business woman who did not hold any public appointment during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, has dragged Unity Bank to the High Court of Lagos State for allowing the EFCC to Post No Debit (PND) on her accounts without a valid court order.
