"I'm Proud of You" - Peace Hyde says to self after Appointment as Forbes Africa Head of Digital Media & Partnerships Congratulations are in order for media personality and business journalist Peace Hyde as she has been appointed as the Head of Digital Media and Strategic Partnerships for Forbes Africa.
Hyde, who is currently the West Africa correspondent for the business publication, will be heading the recently launched www.forbesafrica.com platform.

ASUU Gives FG 6 New Conditions To End Strike

University teachers have presented six new conditions for calling off their two-week old strike. But the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, yesterday pleaded with the lecturers to embrace peace for the sake of innocent students. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) is to discuss today the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and chart the way forward. Some of the options include: Bringing back ASUU to the negotiation table; Allowing the Wale Babalakin Panel to conclude its assignment; Suing ASUU to either the Industrial Arbitration Panel (IAP) or the National Industrial Court (NIC); and Referring all issues to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, in line with the Trade Dispute law. According to a source, who spoke in confidence with our correspondent, the six conditions were not part of the previous demands referred to the Babalakin Committee for arbitration. JAMB Direct Entry Closes On September 15

Dr Fabian Benjamin, the head of media and information of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has announced that the Direct Entry e-Registration portal will be closed on September 15. This was announced on Friday, September 8, in an interview with newsmen in Abuja. He was also quoted as saying that there might be no postponement of the deadline. According to NAN, Dr Benjamin also advised JAMB candidates to re-upload their ‘O’ level results in the new portal as the previous portal did not allow for the capturing of candidates level of grades. He added that candidates should use the approved Computer Based Test (CBT) Centres for the exercise. Interestingly, the new portal has provided a platform for the detailed category of the West African Examination Result (WAEC) of candidates for proper placement.
